I`m still a biginer in a audio construction water and there`s some things I`d like to ask...
1. I noticed that the distortion (let`s cosider only preamplifiers) could be pulled to the wanishing levels using local feedbac only! (High degeneration) I made the open loop single ended (two stage) mosfet preamplifier and the simulation results are VERY good: harmonic content below fundamental at 3V output: 2nd-80dB 3rd-113dB 5th-124dB distortion at 100KHz=0.03% (Open loop) bandwidth 300KHz(-1dB) THE MAIN QUESTION: If we do not cosider that preamp is capacitor coupled and it runs on 240V(so it is more expensive), WHY designer use a global feedback over local? Is that only the money issue or this topology has other disadvantages? (the thread is related only to the preamps) CHEERS! |
