Hi dear, i am in doubt.. I made a Aleph 5 and now i am bulding an Aleph 3 with better parts (i am buying the parts) and a BZLS (almost done) but the SKA i think is a very good amp (nice comments) . The SKA will match with BZLS ? I will have the wonderful sound of Alephs in SKA ?
best regards Hudnes |

I am not sure what you are asking. Is this your planned project (SKA/BZLS ) or are you asking a question? Sorry KL

Hi,
BZLS, what is that? Which SKA? the power amplifier, or the buffer, or the bass summer/filter?

Hi,
the SKA power amp is intended as an unbalanced input (non-inverting) and would not particularly suit a balanced input. But, just as any opamp can be converted to balanced (with a lowish input impedance due to NFB loop), the topologies used by Pass can be applied with the SKA power amp as well. However, maybe the new buffer that AmpGuru is developing could be used as a balanced to unbalanced stage before entering the SKA power amp. The mix of Single Ended and Push Pull could well be complimentary. I wonder?

Let me explain, i want to use the balanced line stage as a pre-amp using unbalanced outputs to source simple killer amp , pre and power. Its more clear now i guess. Thanks for the answers,

No worries, yes, that can be a good approach/compromise That is using the Hot/Gnd from the BZLS's balanced Pre out to the Signal/Gnd of SKA. Because the SKA is so quite, this shouldn't be an issue and because balanced output usually have low impedance output, <100 ohms, this would also provide high compatibility with the SKA Just to let know, Greg now has mono pre-amp boards that have a 47 ohm output impedance These are the SKpre specs http://www.diyhifi.org/amplifierguru/guru_008.htm Frequency response DC - 3MHz -3dB Audio band 20 - 20KHz -0.1dB Distortion < 0.001% 2HD only Input Impedance 10Kohm Output Impedance 47 ohm (user defined) Noise < -120dBA below 2Vrms out Rated output 2Vrms Maximum output 10V rms Output current 10mA in Class A Supply current 7.5mA Supply voltage 30Vac CT or 15Vac or +/-20V Dimensions 75mmD x 50mmW x 30mmH hope this is helpful thanks KL

Hi hcbonfim
I forgot to mention that the SKpre can also be wired as balanced in and unbalanced out thanks KL
