I've read that most amps out there are class AB. I've seen some posts here refer to "class B" amps. Are they true class B where the output devices conduct for half the cycle or just class AB with a very low quiescent current setting. I read that "true" class B amps suffer from a lot of crossover distortion.

Hi,
Generally class B refers to what I call class aB. You can get pure class B in subwoofers, very cheap equipment and poor designs but if you are building it generally you always add some bias. |
