wow! nice find. i wish i found better stuff thrown out around here than beat up department store house-brand garbage electronics from the late 80's.

After listening to it fore a couple of hours, i have teared it apart and cleaned it up, theres a biiig toroid inside, i'll send some pictures monday - it,s now as good as new...might change the capacitors in the PSU - well after 28 years that might be a good idea or what ?.
It sounds good after 20 minuts warm up periode, the bass regulation doesn't work maybe it needs a new pot. But with a powerconsumption of 600 Watts, i won't let it play 24 hours a day....

i similarly got mine from the local tip when you were allowed such things - has anyone got a schematic the pma 850 btw - also has anyone ever heard the tuner ?? best ive heard is the revox i think - the pma is not a bad amp and compares reasonably to decent valve gear - its also hefty enough to be able to drive electrostatics [eg maggys] ok

Wish I could find stuff like this at our dump (if we were even allowed to take it) - the best thing Ive spotted is lousy old 10% THD type midi systems and broken tv's!
