I want to add a balance-pot on my preamp, ESP P37.
If I turn the pot completely to left or right, the output will be short-circuit to ground. Can the output-stage tolerate a short-circuit to ground or do I need some small resistors in series with the balance-pot to prevent a short-circuit?

Or is there another way to connect the balance-pot outside of traditional method?
Any?
