It works very well I will tell you. I have a 400 Watt Kicker amp for 2 10" Kicker Comp subs under my computer desk. It kicks good. A modern power supply will probably keep up excellently.
I can't wait until they decomision the pulverizer controllers at work. The circuitry runs off of two big 12 V 40 A power supplies.

Load either the 5V or 3.3V line so you are pulling maybe 100mA or so on it (a resistor with a small heatsink) and you should be fine. You may find that your 12V output is a bit lower than expected without the load on the 5V (or 3.3V) line.
Don't worry too much about pulling too much current- the PC power supply *should* shut down its output if it finds a fault, i.e. too much current draw). Power-cycling it should bring it back on.
