I'm collecting the parts I'll need to complete my new amp. I've been unable to find heatsinks that fit my requirements. I'm looking for something similar to what Nakamichi used in the PA-7. Doesn't have to be exact, just the general shape and size. It will be part of the structural integrity of the case I'm building.
I've done quite a bit of searching on the web, but as yet haven't found anything suitable. I have found some that are close, but don't have the perpendicular ledge on the back that the transistors attach to. Don |

www.conradheatsinks.com has them. Cost effective to ship from Australia, even by air.
Unless you're using TO-3 devices there isn't much reason to use the flanges, though. Conrad has a nice flat back series. |

I have got some like in the attach photo.
Height : 5cm (fin height) Width : 20, 25, 30cm (from left to right of photo) Depth : cut according to your specification base thickness : 5mm The one in photo has 19 fins along the width of 25cm and is not flanged. If this may fit your application, sent me an email. tony_chan_cf@email.com |

Bob, thanks for the lead! This is actually the company that Aussie Amps recommends. They have a heatsink that should work. Doesn't look as nice as the Nakimichi, but will suffice.
Bigpanda, thanks for the offer. At this point It looks like I'm going with Conrad. |

I make use of Semikron. They sell heatsink offcuts (anything shorter than 120mm is an offcut!) for whatever the scrap metal equivalent value is. See if there isn't a branch near you!
Semikron Heatsink Catalogue Warm regards! |
