100k, at least I think that is what it was on my A401 (European A400 with tone controls) I remember because after I blew my A401 up I used the pot for my SE EL34.

I don't understand it a 100% myself.
Apparently the preceding stage needs an appropriate load. Most preceding stages these days are the op-amps in a cd player that have very low output impedances so they can play into any load really. Making it rather irrelevant if you use a 10k or 100k pot AFAIK. Maybe someone who knows his stuff can chip in. |

My A400 pot is a little scratchy, anyone know where i can get one ?
Ive tried cleaning with a good electrical cleaner but not the Craig products as yet. Only option i can see is possibly a Alps one off ebay but loosing the balance facility ?? Any help guys ??? thanks dennis |

The guys from QUAD Audio (GB) once gave me the tip of using WD-40 for scratching pots......
I've used it 5 years ago on an old OUAD 34 preamp, and it has still not developped scratchy sounds again
