tda7294 current, power transformer selection

I want to use the tda7294 in a bridge configuration, as seen in the data sheet.

tda7294 datasheet, bridge circuit, p.13, figure 25

I am clueless, however, as to how much current this circuit will draw. I need to know this, of course, because I don't want to buy a power supply that doesn't have a high enough current rating. BTW, I plan to use about +-40V to the supply rails.

Anyone have any experience with this circuit? Or, can anyone give me an estimate, or tell me how to make my own estimate?

You will run into power dissipation problems if you try and use +/- 40V in the bridge configuration.
I would stick to the supply voltages mentioned in the pdf for the bridge
circuit i.e +/-25V

and scroll down to page 126 there is an example of power supply design which can be scaled up for your purposes.
