Rotel RC995 vs Adcom 565-Which is better sounding overall? Are they basically equal?
I am looking for:
1) a smooth sound (as I have d'appilito type of speaker that are a touch forward). 2) good phono stage 3) ambience 4) soundstage deep and wide. Any experience or comments please. Thanks

Well I did nor heard Adcom, but I had RC995 for around 4 years. It is absolutelly everything you want. And now is very cheap in second hand too.
Look also the experiences in audioreview - lot of people found it is even better than some Krell preamps
