Hi
I am looking for a amp design that is stable to handle 2 ohms load I saw the Krell design. Any other recommendations beside the Krell Thanks

Hi Diyguy,
since you don't exist anywhere, then there's nowhere to send the info.

Hi Diyguy,
I will tell you to look at Quasi's 10FET amp and Workhorse posts on his very muscular PA amps, IF you change your location to "Singapore" or something more useful.

If you send me an email I will send you the latest schematics, layouts and setup guide. This is the section of the thread where the 10 FET layout was introduced.
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showt...022#post797022 If you decide to build this amp, take the time to skim through the whole thread and read the important bits (power selection guide, schematics and layouts. Cheers Quasi

Dear Quasi, I am sifting through the 81 pages of that monster post - nice work by the way.... Could you e-mail to me the finalized schematics for that MOSFET amp? I saw up to version 1.4, but I'm not sure if that's where it ended. My name is Bob, email is yellow_fiero@rocketmail.com. I'm not sure how to email you directly, as I'm a noob here. Thanks again. |

Randy Slone's Optimos is stable at 2 ohms according to the spec. Of course you need to have the proper heatsink and PSU. I have not pushed it to 2 ohms but 2.5 ohms and never experienced any problems whatsoever. The earlier schematic can be found in his "Audiophile Project Resouce Cookbook". I was lazy and bought the kits at www.ledeaudio.com
Regards, Bill |
