Arrrgh!

Anyway. Jeff, it's easy to go down the wrong path. The only reason I know is that I've burned myself on the bench so many times in the past.

Glad you have it working. What do you think of that little set?

Hi Poobah,
Sorry, thanks dude!
Yes, I'm uncomfortable with that.

Well... you turned the problem exactly upside down... and in doing so... found the problem... 90 points on STYLE alone!

BTW... you haven't done this **** before... have you?

There are times that something upside-down fits the problem better. It's the only answer that really made sense. And yes, I've been there more than once.

Servicing teaches you humility. To survive you need to think creatively.

I know... doesn't it chap your *** when you spend 20 minutes changing a 15 dollar chip that you waited 2 weeks for, and then the damn thing STILL doesn't work?

LOL
More than once!

There always seems to be something else. Mind you, I very rarely get units that someone else hasn't worked on first.

How about getting all the expensive parts and the 5 part is always backordered? No replacement. That's a killer when you are doing warranty service.

Boy... can I relate to that! I used to have an auto shop. One of our first questions was usually, "What did you have fixed last?".

Somebody would need new wheel bearings after a brake job... because some knothead used an impact wrench on the adjusting nut... out of cotter pins I guess.

Hi poobah,
It really doesn't matter what industry you are in, does it?

Along the same vein, getting good techs. The customer always pays for the moron who works on their stuff. I am looking for another good auto mechanic in my area. Mine moved to a better paying dealership in a galaxy far, far away.
