lower output resistance only comes with increased nfb. some guitar amps seem to use a small resistor in series with the load, connected to the feedback point to control the output impedance to something between low and high - maybe even roughly 8 ohms, but I have not done the calculations. Damping of speaker-generated signals will be worse, but maybe this configuration is used to allow the amp to clip and keep control of output current. Can't imagine it is useful for hifi though... cheers John |
