I am on the way to built a
JLH Class-A 40Watts amplifier after built the JLH Class-A 10Watts first version (1969). I saw a lot of post about the Krell KSA 50 so I am wondering if there is a different between this 2 class A implifier. Did someone built both ? Anybody have a felling about that ? Thank you. |

Hi,
the Krell is a push pull ClassA design. The JLH is a single ended ClassA design with a current sink that is not quite constant (sort of tracking with signal level). I would expect them to sound quite different. Each has it's own adherents. I am a bit of a JLH fan even though I have never built any of his circuits. He wrote very clearly and is relatively easy to understand.

Thank for your answer Andrew
I guess the best way is to build 1 of each. I also noticed the 'killer amp' on the forum wich will be my third one. Anybody have other informations ? Thanks |

Not competly sure but almost sure.. I am sure the JLH Class-A 40Watts amplifier will be good , after I don't know for the 2 others ones. |
