Noisy NAD 705

O.K So I love my NAD 705. Like everyone who has owned one can attest :"GRRRRR those bloody lights!" No worries any more for this unit. I changed to an L.E.D. setup. Runs cooler and looks really cool with blue L.E.D's

However, it's quite finicky. It crackles when turned on and I have to turn up the gain in order for it to go away.

What could be the cause? Screwy capacitors? Screwy transistors?

Any advice would be welcome.

Thanks!

Squirrel,
Is that with a signal at the input or not?
I'm asking because the volume of the music might mask the noise.
Check if the volume pot is dirty by moving it a tiny bit in the area where the crackle is audible; without input signal.
If that is the case, a tiny amount of contact spray is your friend.
Better is to replace the pot.
