amp upgrade

what would I have to do to upgrade a NAD S300 amp?

myhrrhleine 5th February 2006 07:26 PM

Make changes to it.

edisraf 5th February 2006 07:53 PM

what kind of changes?

myhrrhleine 5th February 2006 08:20 PM

You might consider what you really want.
One can change a few parts, maybe to higher grade capacitors, different transistors, etc.
One could put in larger power supply filter capacitors.
Or one could 'gut' the thing, keeping the case, power supply, and heatsinks, yet replacing everything else.

What is it you seek?

Would you post the schematic of your amp? :)

Nad S300 , one more amp with current feedback in the voltage gain stage and no overall feedback ... it was to be expected..

Well, I still think that the amp perhaps is not so lifeless ... you can ad an input stage diferenitial amp - either with a pair of high quality transistors or with an opamp. Thus, I supose, you can insert an overall voltage feedback, but of course I can't be sure before seeing the schematic :) .
