Default Arcam Alpha 6 Apmplifer does anyone have any details?

I'm looking at purchasing and Arcam Alpha 6 amp to take the duties of my Cambridge A1 MkIII till i decide to repair it or gain clone it. Which as an idea I like, but skills may not reach.

Anyway I have been offered the amp for 30 and was wondering the specs as the vendor doesn't know. I've googled and searched but not got any real details about the amp.

Any help is gratefully recieved.

From what I can see, 50W per channel... it's probably the same topology as the 7R.

For 30 quid, go for it.

Well I bought it yet to test/use it though so we will see if it's a bargain or a waste of space.

Hi - I'm eyeing an Alpha 6 amp because I'm in love with the sound of my Alpha 5 CD. Just toying with the idea...

A couple of years ago I tried an Alpha 3 amp with my old Aiwa XC-700 CD and found it a bit dry, a bit matter-of-fact compared with my cuddly Marantz PM32. I kept the Marantz and my old Mission 760i's by the way.

I'm wondering if the Alpha 6 is going to be more of the same in a nicer case with a motorised volume control. Does anyone have a view on this? I probably wouln't pay more than a ton - but a ton is a ton after all.
