I want to make one 200W @ 8ohms Class AB for 2 way active PA speaker system. I want to use another 50W@8ohms for tweeter. The amplifier must be rugged. Suggest some good circuits.

200 Watt in 8 Ohm = +-56.6 Volt peak
(gives >7A peak currents, 56.6V/8 Ohm) For one channel, mono: Power Supply = 2x 60-65 Volt DC with 15-20 Ampere bridge rectifier. Suitable transformers, you need two of these, can be: 2x45V and 500VA

For the 200W@8Ohms amplifier have a look at the Ampslab C300:

Hi,
I would go for the ESP 300W design and reduce the transformer voltage to match your power requirement. I think it's P101 you need not the sub-bass amp; http://sound.westhost.com/projects.htm |
