It's not something really simple like the monitor button is it? When's the last time it worked?

IIRC those have two tape monitor buttons. If either is dirty the unit will be dead. Push them 100 times and try again. Make sure the pre-out/main in jumpers are there.

To add to what djk has suggested, check the fuses and the speaker buttons.
I know, they are obvious. -Chris |

Hi azgard,
Is there anything plugged into the tape out jacks? Unplug if there is. -Chris |

Try rotating the balance control.
If dirty, the unit will be dead. |

Hi, since yesterday I am in possession of a Harman Kardon 930. I had the same problems like azgard.
After about 30 minutes of turning on and off all switches and controls, arranging loudspeakers, Headphones, Turntable, Antennas and even the voltage to 230V (240V on the switch) like one would do with vintage electronics, ... I laughed my head off ... I had forgotten to bridge between the pre amp and the main amp. Now everything works as is expected of vintage equipment. (I will not think that other people could have done the same neglect). |

Hi atalanta,
That happens more than you would think. It's even stumped some technicians. -Chris |
