Hi,

I'm about to build my first Diy Audio project soon, a Gain clone amp. I have been wondering how to implement the volume controll for that one. I would like to be able to control it digitally so i could steer the volume with a remote control. I've been reading this forum for a while among other things and found following possibilities.

1. to use a chip to do this e.g. CS3310

2. to steer a MUX as discussied in http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/show...10&highlight=MUX+Volume+Controll&pagenumber=1

3. to use reles

Also could it be possible to use a resistor between signal ground and the signal to lead a amount of the signal to the ground? That way there will be no components on the signal path. The questions is thought, is the smallest resistor enough to prevent short circuit? Or could the signal be lead to somewhere else perhaps?

thanks in advance for your opinnions.

Best regards,
Tony

Hey Tony try this volume control and input controllers. I bought one about 6 months ago and never looked back. The kits are excellent and the service is absolutely awesome. I am looking at buying another 6-8 kits of Mikkel, Really top bloke. Check out his website here is a link to some of the info about these kits.
