One of the most popular is the AlephX. You really have to come over to passlabs forum.

Or stay here and look at the Krell Clone thread. It's not single ended but it is a cracking amp.

How much power are you talking about? The original JLH design was redesigned about 1996 for dual supplies, as well as Rod Elliots versions. And then, there are the versions at Nelson Pass's DIY site.
Check 'em out. http://www.tcaas.btinternet.co.uk/index-1.htm http://sound.westhost.com/projects-1.htm http://www.passdiy.com/default.htm |

on one of the passlabs sites is a project from 1977 that sounds like it matches your needs. it's an project from the now defunct "Audio" magazine. the entire article is available as a pdf.

Hi boxedin,
In my view, a single ended amplifier refers to the output stage. I realize that others may hold a differing view. I consider the A25 to be a single ended class-A BJT amplifier. I can't think of another recommendation offhand but there must be one. I think you may have to design up something for yourself. How about grafting the front end of the JLH onto the output stage of the A25? Regards, Graeme |
