Hi,
I want to build a mosfet amp and have looked at elliott's P101, but I want a balanced input. Are there any good sounding designs around here with balanced input and an output of around 100-200W RMS@8ohm? Thanks ![]() Petter |

Hi Alcaid,
I like those designs also the most. There are many people saying, that single differential sounds better than complementary. I must admit I never done a listening test between those two topology's. But enough about that, there are already to much thread focusing on that. At the moment you can have a look at the next thread, here I'm designing such an amp. I attached a picture of the last version. (You can't find the full output stage on this picture) It has about 170Wrms/8Ohm and 260Wrms/4Ohm. I'm using JFET's as input stage, but this can easily be converted to use BJT's. With BJT's you also won't need the differential VAS. All the Crescendo amps have also what you are looking for, or the AEM6000, buzquito, Hafler amp's, ... http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showt...&postid=788904 Ben |

Or, you could use a trafo, like Jensen or Lundahl...

DIYaudio.com fell out of reach for 10min just as I posted.
With a trafo, you can take away the input-cap...and in my experience, the Jensen sounds better than any cap... Arne K

The trafo is the solution of a problem, but what about avvoiding the problem to begin with? Aren't there any good sounding balanced mosfet amp designs around? I don't want a class A heating oven, I already have heating in my apartment
