Hi all,
I decided to build a preamp. I need 4 inputs. I am keep looking at Erno Borbely's All FET Line preamp... And I like it a lot. But I cannot afford it (EB-1198/116 : http://www.borbelyaudio.com/eb1198116.asp) I like the typology and the components used. My question: Are you aware of any other kit that uses opamps, JFET current sources and MOSFET output stage, with high quality resistors (Caddocks, Dale or similar) and comes with an appropiate power supply? And of course, is cheaper? I am looking to spend max US$560 for parts (including chassis). |

Hi rmihai,
I was thinking of doing a preamp and for that matter an active x'over but using FET cascode op amps. Really didn't want to fiddle with GR/BL/V matching and erratic supplies. Just nice discrete 80dB regs. Any suggestions. Cheers, Greg |
