Hi,
I've got four 105VCT 400VA power transformers (EI) in my junk box. Any ideas for an amp project that sould suit these? ..Todd J |

Hi Todd,
If you're after 8ohm power my 300W cascode killer amp will just run on your +/-77V but would be happier if you dropped it under 75V . Maybe a soft start could consume 3 to 4V. Supplies would need to come down a fair bit (15V) for 4ohm since it's a supply efficient R2R design. Cheers, greg |

Cool. Thanks MPMarino.
Hi Greg, I need it to handle a 4-ohm load. And I haven't got a clue how I'd knock the transformer secondaries down by 15v. I'm pretty much a an electronics newbie. Maybe a ton of blue LEDs... Worst case, I'll sell the transformers on eBay and get ones that are bit smaller (i.e. more versatile). ..Todd |
