Stainless Steel Death of Zen pre amp

The first component of a nice series, including gainclone power amp, CDPro2 cd player and EMU0404 digital player/DAC.
The pre amp (a Rod Elliott design) is dead quiet, the PSU is mounted on the groundplate. More pictures coming up soon.
Just to be honest from the start: although the entire design/electronical construction was done by me, a professional welded the stainless steel for me. Didn't he do a marvellous job?

WS-el is a great silicone cleaner/antistatic spray for that beauty.

From experience I know that stainless steel isn't the easiest material to work with. That is a darn good looking case you got there
Also, the guy who did the welding sure knows his job.

just saw this thread.. i've always thought stainless steel to be the best looking enclosure material.. probably cuz of blue circle's stuff. It just looks so clean. Keep up the good work!

Very nice! Did your welder make/machine the knobs too? It has a very clean, professional appearance.

Which Rod Elliot design is it? I've looked through his preamp schematics and haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary.
