Dynaco Stereo 400 mods

Hello everyone. I've recently aquired an st-400 and am planning to modify/update it. I have not found much on the web so I would like some ideas please. I do have some, but I am no expert.

To start with, there are two tantalum coupling caps that I may remove, since my preamp has a transformer coupled output and no DC. Are there any reasons why this is a bad idea?

No knowing the A400 in detail, you may want to check if there is any input bias current that would flow through the transformer if you remove (short) the caps. Are the transformers designed to accomodate that?

You may also want to get the back issue of Audio Amateur (see www.audioXpress.com ) they had an article about upgrading the power supply. But it was many years ago, you will have to ask them.
