Naim style DIY Preamp

Has anybody here seen the Naim style 'Air guitar' pre?

Modding Naim kit is more popular than anything else on the uk diy forums. This preamp apparently takes all the best ideas they have come up with over the last few years and rolls it into a line only pre amp.

Claims that it will easily beat a Nac52 (7000 pounds retail) is a pretty big call.

One of the more interesting things is the throwing out of the common use of LM317 and using Super Regulators in place, apparently gives the largest gains for the power supply side.

interesting thread. Where do you get the Naim style case?
I like one the size of the Naim Nait.

Interesting thread. I do think, though, that the "magic" (if there is any) probably has more to do with the P/S than the amp iteself. I bet most preamps would sound pretty good if fed from this kind of power and regulation.

but , dissecting one gadget on audio and power supply stages is strictly hypotethical-we know that these "two" parts are equal in mutual role.......

I have not heard any Naim equipment, so i can't comment, but there is a lot of useful looking info to be found there. I will take what I can from the articles and try integrating it into other projects.
