Is there anyone who has made a pure single-end poweramplifier, not based on tubes and with a passive volume control?
I was listening to one and it played amazing and hot. You have a totally another harmonic distortion similar to nature and not the ordinary non-harmonic distortion that is in class-A, class-B amplifiers. |

I’m back!
Is there some one who has heard one? They are rare. Why do thing the complicated way. A single-end seems to bee so simple. OK you can probably only get 30 W, but with speakers for 1/90W and normally rooms that’s no problem. Then you have another headroom for the amp., and what a sound, amazing. Hard to describe but everything was there and you almost had the smoky club air in your face. You sat there and was listen listen listen and you where never tired… |

I've been working for the past few years on a concept which uses an input step-up transformer for voltage gain coupled to a single-ended follower. So if that qualifies as a "single-ended power amplifier" then yes. Otherwise, um, no. se |

When I talk about Single-end I mean as the picture below.
I try to make one with an ordinary OP in the front. Have anyone any schematics? |

You might want to also include amps with an active current source, eg the Aleph series and the JLH (John Lindsey Hood).
