substitutes for 2SC3519

Hello community.

I have thinking to change the old 2SC3519/2SA1386 of my Carver because I owe to drive a difficult speaker at 4ohm and i want to have more current.

I want to leave the 2sc4381/2sa1667 drivers for the moment.

What do you think about ?

1. Carver amps will drive a 4 R load normally.
2. What is the model number of your amp?

The model is TFM 15 and have 4 bjt / channel.

The devices were several year old and I want to change with more performant devices.

My speaker are 4 way self-made Hi-End and I have necessity to drive with little more current.

Your original parts are rated for 15A, 130W with an fT of 50MHz.

You can try the latest ON Semi parts, small gain. And remember, a 4 R load is a 4R load. I guess you mean to "crank it". You still have a heatsink sized for the original temperature rise, and the thermal in the power transfomer may go first anyhow. This amp is no toy but it's not a Krell either.

Those are what I was thinking of. You will need to drill new holes higher up as those are a bit longer. Tap them 3 X 4 mm to do a nice job.
