Default A beefier P3A?

Hi,

The EPS P3A amp seems like a quite nice project to feed the lower end in my upcoming biamped speakers with.
Since I have some serious hardware piled up (750VA 2x24V transformer, several 66500uF caps and four big heatsinks) I´d like to beef it up a bit.
The suggested output transistors seems unavailable here, but I think three pairs of TIP35/36 or BD249/250 would be good enough, huh?

Ideally I would like a pure class A amp, but the heatsinks are a little too small to support that at this highish transformer voltage.
How does the P3A perform at higher bias currents, maybe 1,5A per channel? Would quiescent qurrent stability be a problem?

Have you looked at the P3B?

Yup, I´ve seen the P3B. Maybe that´s more what I´m looking for, though I´d still have to add extra output transistors to deal with the dissipated power

hi Fuling,
it's simple to add one more pair output transistors and you have all informations on ESP site.
Ask Rod for details he will help you.
All the best!

If you are really interested in running Class A, which is known for running hot, why don't you use 4 or more pairs of transistors, to better distribute the heat on the heatsinks.
