From today, DOGC-H files are added on my WEB site under DOGC-MK3 text. DOGC-H is a stronger version of previous design DOGC-MK3 and it will deliver full 100W on 8 ohms and about 160-170W on 4 ohms.

Sekhar, what is causing your confusion? How do you performed “scaling down”… what criteria was used?
Difference between Studio and StudioSE is in two stabilizing stages in supply rails of voltage stages. Sonically, some people prefer older version but other prefer newer SE version… it is hard to say and it depends on your personal preferences and quality and characteristics of the remaining components of your home system. If you definitely decide to build StudioSE, I can give you PCB and layout files directly on your E-mail. There is nothing in this design that will call for special instructions or procedure. It seems people are too often driven to build some designs only by availability of extensive documentation, explanations and who knows what else. In many threads where someone is asking for a list of good quality designs or amplifiers, one of the main arguments to provide high ranking is “it is well documented”, but that is not guaranty that it is superior design. . That might make life of a less experienced or less knowledgeable builder easier, but it is not a factor that determines quality and sonic performance of one design.

Just a good mention , If I could not design my own , I would build an OMEGA amp. I wonder why this thread only has 80k views. Besides the symasym (535k views -#1 small class B - finally), this SHOULD be #2 for sheer design excellence.
Very good work !! ![]() OS |

Thank you OSTRIPPER for such nice and high opinion regarding my designs. It means a lot when it is coming from another designer of respectable class. I sincerely appreciate that because my approach, education and attitude don't allow me to do anything that could bee seen as self-promotion... other people should talk about you and your work. I am happy to see small but steady increase in number of people recognizing my work!

Dr. Bora;
I second ostripper's praise of your amplifier :-). I also agree with your comments about the 'builders' here - apexaudio is getting inundated with a barrage of questions from peepul who refuse to build the excellent designs he has so kindly provided. Peepul, if you want to change/customize someone else's design, be kind enough to not ask totally stoopid questions - there are PULENTY of designs here for everyone's fetish... |

I was playing with MODUS amp which has been succesfully matched and synergized with TDL transmission line speakers and Onkyo CD player. Awfull performace which reminded me of a valve amp set-up I listened few years ago. Now I am building LAMBDA which will be soon to complete. I do have build other amps like the said famous threads with ten of thousands of hits. They do sound good. Well for me Bora does it Better. Cheers.......Raj. |
