Thumbs up nice 10W mosfet class-a amp circuit

hi:

I got the original amp circuit here:

it is BJT output device,I think mosfet's would be more suitable as output devices here,so I design this 10W(RMS) class-a amp:

Hi Darkhorse,

Nice BJT to FET "conversion". Are you planning to build this amplifier? The only thing i dont like about this 2 stage amplifiers is the low OL Gain. I dont say they are bad, its just my feeling.
Maybe it is possible to replace R5 with a current source so you can get the maximum gain out of the first stage.

this is effectively the "ultra-linear pair" I talked about in another thread, with an Aleph-styled CCS load.

If you really like it, you should take a look at the PLH. Much simpler and affords you a lot of flexibility.

yes,I want to build one channel to examinate it,I think it will sounds good and more likes an valve tube amplifier^@^

it works sames to JLH mos version(or PLH)...but it is class-a opertions.so it sounds more lovly I think!

my friend,don't look down this simple amp,I have builded one channel to examin it's capability.it works good,out of my suppose,you can smell out "hi-fi" from this amp...

All signals, which will be bellow cca 46 dB from full level, will be not hearable, 'cos will be bellow distortion... It's not " heaven"...
