capacitor leads trouble

I have the radioshack 100µF 35V 20% Axial-Lead Electrolytic Capacitor for a preamp im makig. i cant tell which side is the posative and negative. it has aarows pointin towards a side(each lead somes out of the sides, the circle part of the side) but idk if its negative 100% or not. it looks like inside the aarow it might be a negative sign but it might just be a block inside hte aarow. any help would be appreciated

I assume you are talking about the type of capacitor below:

In this case I beleive that the arrow is pointing in the direction of the negative lead, but don't take my word 100% on it. Maybe some others will know for sure.

yes tahts the one but the aarows look different on mune, they are solid and mashed together. i saw that picture on radioshack.com.

Ok, here you go. The site below says that with axials the arrow always points in the direction of negative terminal.

You should be all set now.

thanks alot, now i just need to go get a 820ohm resistor tomorrow and ill be set with this preamp circuit im building
