Default car amplifier ADCOM AMP GFA-4402

how much power does this amplifier actually put out as the impedance is reduced ?

2 ohms 1ohm

1/2 ohm 1/4 ohm.

anyone know ?

40 watts x 2 at 4 ohms

can this amp drive 1/4 Ohms without producing smoke?

Normally car amps will able to drive loads down to 1 ohm,beyond thatrotection circuits start to working.

Very true, anyone would be a fool to build a car amp without protection circuitry. A fire inside a car is a horrible thing...especially while your driving in the center lane of a busy highway.

I have seen high end car amps that don't have any overload protection. I can't remember the brand though. but they do still have thermal protection.
