I am working on a amp that has 2 mj15022 npn transistors but the schematics say the pnps on the other side are mj15002 and not mj15023. I wonder why this is and can i use the mj15023 instead.

I would say, ask the guys that were helping you last time, it's very
likely to be a typo and that it has to be mj15023, but i am also not 100% sure... |

beleave it or not I pulled the mj15002's out of it so it's not a typo, I wonder why they used those.
thanks Tony |

The CS800 is quasi-complementary, all npn at the outputs. I have not seen the "X" version, but it is probably similar.
Have they scaled down the outputs? The CS800 had a total of 10 power transistors, 5 on either side.

This is for a Crate pfx6, I started the other thread talking about a cs800 which then led into the problems I'm having with the crate( which the schemaitics are for)
Sorry for any confusion Tony |

Hi Tony
I see what you mean. That's a strange one alright. I would expect the top transistors to be MJ15023 too. If you opt to go for the MJ15023, you may encounter some stability problems. Best power up with a light bulb first and check with scope. BTW, some amps with opamp front end cannot be powered up with a variac. Regards
