Some questions on transistors:
wht's the bjt with highest beta you've ever seen, and whats its beta value? Mine is the bc549c with 493.2 of beta. I think there are some with higher, but i don't know what's the highest early voltage bjt you've ever seen? and the lowest? what are the lowest and the highest Is bjts?? and there are many other questions we can make about it, post yours please. |

About beta, the highest i have measured is a mpsa18 with hfe = 998,
with only vce = 5v and ic of 1ma... (original onsemi) Mike |

hey, this is a very good transistor for amplification!! I wonder why I don't see the MPSA18 in amp projects.... is it expensive or hard to find???

Check 2SD2375 from Panasonic, it has a typical Hfe of 1000, it's rated at Vce=60V and Ic=3A and is commonly found in simple zener-transistor voltage regulators in oriental equipment. I don't know any similar standard part so I have to replace them by darlingtons everytime I find one blown.

It's not expensive, but not too easy to get. (the mpsa18)
I use it in my amp projects and i am very happy with it. Farnell does have the fairchild version, about the same price as a bc546b. Mike |

try Dalbani, in Surry, England. Dalbani sells it as a Matsushita device (= Matshita Panasonic) Something like $1.50 each

2SD2375 seems to be very good too for amp. Does someone have the spice model for it?

Why the attention to Hfe only ?
You better be good, Bihibibibero !!
