Hi,
Do you like Carvers? A very popular brand that used that idea in a form. The Lightstar used "down converters". The other series preregulated the AC supply and switched voltages up & down on the outputs. Hitachi and others have been there and done that. A new flavour though. The only thing that scares me about Yamaha is they don't seem to understand high currents and power dissipation. Also, when they go, their designs blast themselves to Mars quiet often. From outputs to diff pairs. If that don't get you, the complicated protecton circuits make troubleshooting much more fun than it should be. -Chris |
