Will this work?

Hi guys just wandering if this would work, I have an amp that uses tip29c/tip30c in part of the power supply, i have on hand tip2955/3055. Just wandering if they will work, Seems to be ok on the datasheet but just wanted to double check.

you want to swap the latter in place of the former?

Yep, looks alright to swap: same pinouts; 2955/3055 specs higher or at least equal in all aspects. Verify correct operation after putting in new part, making sure the higher current gain (beta) and resulting bw and open-loop gain doesn't cause the output of the regulator to ring (normally shouldn't since most PS systems are swamped with capacitance).

Yeah i want to swap them as the tip29 is shorted out so i was going to replace bothe the 29 and the 30 ithe the 2955 and 3055.

thanx for the info clem i will replace them with the 2955/3055.
