P2P soldering technique

When you P2P wizards:wiz: are wiring circuits, do you worry about getting solid mechanical connections between wires and devices, or are you using the 'solder as glue' technique? For example, connecting MOSFETs to resistors, etc - I imagine it would be tough to get a mechanical connection without damaging the active devices.

Cheers,
Eric

When I do p2p I attach my components and then wire them up, like tubes to a socket, or transistors to a heatsink, and then silicone the passive parts down and wire them up that way. I wouldn't want just to solder to hold the part in place, unless it was a little 1/4w resistor or whatnot.
