Details are: 2kVA, 86V Center tapped for +/-60V, with additional 12V tertiary winding @1A. Looks like its magnetically shielded. The cost is $59.95 and it weighs 16 pounds. 120V in or 220
Looks like a good find G but I have a question for everyone: Why is it only 16 pounds? I have a 1.5kVA from Plitron that is 27pounds? Is it possible that it has more cross-sectional area than mine because it is taller but with less silicon-steel? Again, a pretty good find G!!! BeanZ

That's a good question. I have no idea. I would guess that the Plitron is probably overbuilt. Which is definately not a bad thing.

I bought 4 of the transformers for my projects. Have not fired one up yet. 2kva is probably streching it a bit as they are rated at 20 amps at 86 volts which is 1.7 kva. Also, the voltage may sag under load a bit more than the Pliotrons which are rated at 4% regulation, no load to full load. These might be lower. I don't know yet but will report as soon as my Aleph 2's are finished using these. I still think they are an excellent value.
