Hi,
the 2SC5200/2SA1943 are new Toshiba numbers, replacing the old numbers 2SC3281/2SA1302. My data book says, they have the same characteristics. So you could try to find the spice models for 2SC3281/2SA1302. The AKSA FAQ also states that these pairs are identical, and they replaced the 2SC3281/2SA1302 with 2SC5200/2SA1943, when the latter went obsolete: http://www.printedelectronics.com/faqs/faqs_aksa.html BTW, these transistors are fine. I am using the 2SC5200/2SA1943 in one of my own designs, too. regards, Hartmut |

those also come as OPD's in the ultra inexpensive GemSound XP-375 which is a shockingly good amp once you quiet down the fans.

![]() Running these models. Screenshot: ![]() My spice test show some values that are Not reasonable to me. At ... COLLECTOR-EMITTER 20 Volt and 1 Ampere: 2SC3281, VBE = 831mV 2SA1302, VBE = 631mV I also have consulted the Datasheet diagrams concerning Voltage Base-Emitter. I can not find anything confirm such a difference. I also ckecked out Orcad Spice library, but they use exactly the same model. Shows that when one 'bad spice model' is around, it may turn up most everywhere. There are several known such cases of not correct models all over! Here you can find the PDF Datasheets I have consulted: http://lineupaudio.freehostia.com/pdf/contents.php Important Note: Login using password: diyaudio I have written and setup a script to restrict access. Any comments and findings on this would be welcome. I will use these models to Evaluate a Power Amplifier schematic, found in internet. So, of course, in order to get comparable results (with another known amplifier), I surely want only as good Spice Models as possible: 2SC3281, 2SA1302 ... who are said ( by Hugh 'AKSA' Dean ) to be comparable to This Very Popular Output stage complementary pair: 2SC5200, 2SA1943 Thanks Lineup
