My passion for phat sounds has been by distortion I am seeing on my amp. I bought a Dixon small amplifier. This gadget is/was magnificent till I smoked it. I have no experience in electronics. This little amp is was using 4 x 2SJ154 mosfets from NEC. I replaced them with IRFP9620. Also cooked was several resistors which I replaced with matching values. The unit is now sounding fine only at low volume. You raise the volume then distortion becomes audible especially when you have put bass. I found another high powered amp with same problems. what can I do to solve the problem.
