Newbie Idea

Hi everyone,

I'm new here and trying to get a couple of questions answered.
I'm thinking about building 5 floor stand Speakers that will have 2 - 6.5" mids and 1" tweet with a side firing sub either 10" or 12".

I want to add a subwoofer plate amp to each tower. Not sure if that is to much but wanted to try anyway.

I'm thinking about buying the amp plates now and was considering these amps

Apex Senior 380rms(4ohms) for $149
Parts Express 300-796 272rms(4ohms) for $119

What do u guys think? Any suggestions or idea's...

Boy, did you post in the wrong forum!

As for plate amps, many members here have used both Apex and PE and I haven't heard anything bad yet. Maybe try pricing both with shipping included to see which is cheaper in total.

You didn't say enough about the speaker design to comment on it. Is it an MTM or a 2.5?

As for Speaker design, not sure what u mean by MTM or 2.5. Please excuse my ignorance, but I have some basic knowledge and might not know all the terms u speak of.

Do you know of any design fitting my description that I can go research?
