Ok..so I have Rod's PCB, and bought a 16VAC Wall Wart as he suggests. However Although it was advertised as a 16VAC inturns out that it's a 18VAC no-load transformer an 16 VAC with a load. Should this work or do I need a 16VAC no load transformer? By the way I tried to post this question on the ESP Forum but I can't get the forum to load tonight for some reason.
Thx Mike |

If you want a 16V at xVA transformer it will always be higher by the no load to full load regulation %. Is this a plugpack? They usually have 10% or more regulation.
Clearly you need a transformer that provides the volts you need AT THE CURRENT YOU NEED so it should generally be fine. |

It's the same type of wall wart I used and is fine. Mine goes up to around 19VAC without a load.
Even used a 15VAC one from and old modem and that worked fine as well. |
