Hi guys,
My Technics EQ SH-8017 is a switched type; ie if you turn it of output should equal to input. The point is, if I also unplug the unit the sound goes. There is no relay inside I can see or hear the click. So, are there some switching transistors which do the job? If so, what would be their effect on sound quality? Thanks. Cheers, Murat |

Usually any eq or external processor is situated at the tape loop of a preamplifier. In this case simply switching the preamp between tape (eq on) and source (eq off) will allow equalized or unequalized output from the preamp.

Great! Ok I am an idiot and this was so simple. Now I am using tape jacks of the EQ instead of the output jacks and I can hear the difference of bypassing the EQ totally. Thanks,
