In looking at the BC550C, the BC550CTA is available at a fraction of the cost of the BC550C, at least , in quantities less than 1,000.
What does the TA suffix mean, anyway? My guess is "Toshiba" made, as the BC550C is obviously Fairchild made. But I'm not sure... |

I didn't study the page in-depth but could this be part of the solution?

I could be wrong, but I believe the suffixes are just packaging.
TA - tape BU - bulk (10000 pieces) TAR - tape on reel? Anything else is just loose.
