-you cannot know the resistance of this water/salt mixture
-you can have some problems if youre testing for a longer period, because Cl is coming out and Na transforms to NaOH which is dangerous too, if youre a smoker you can blow your room out because of H coming from reaction too..
(if you wanna know the reaction formula:
2H2O + 2NaCl + Energy (from ur amp) --> H2 + 2NaOH +Cl2)

Is it possible to make dummy load with car halogen lamp?

1 lamp at 12V can dissipate 150W, means the R is about 1ohm.

Can I make 4ohm load with 4 of this 150W halogen lamp in series?

Hi.

I made this box from scrap. The following resistances are available:

2 * 7.33 Ohm /150W

2* 7.6 Ohm /100W

1* 7 Ohm /250W

Cooling is done with a fan. I don't think it could remove the worst-case-heat, but for shorter periods its fine.

Regards TroelsM

Default my double dummy load

This is my own made double dummy load. In a simple package there are two dummies made from nickel-chromium edge wound wire each of 8Ù / 20°C or 8,16Ù / 100°C. And each of power about 2,5KW.
