Making the VAS current larger by lower the load resistor value would lower the open gain...another method to lift the drive current of ciss is adding drive bjt for upper mosfet.
the reason?... except for the pole of VAS,the output stage supply another pole.I think,higher the non-main-pole freq is,more stable the amp is....and larger the Ciss drive current can reduce the hi-freq distoration. BTW: your PSU sch miss the correct draw of IRFP9240 cheers X.G. |

Just wondering why use boostrap instead of current sink at the Class A driver???Is it because this circuitry was taken from IR's application notes ???

Yes.. it was taken from ir's application notes 3 years ago and fiddled with and played with in different spot. I still cant find there Schematic that they had out a while back : O )
