I need big power for 8 ohms subwooferI was wandering what is the best solution to have big power under 8 ohm (about 700W). Single class AB amp will need >100V DC rails, and so special MOSFET, not the IRFP240 I 'm used to use.
and also high voltage more expensive caps The second solution could be to bridge two amp (stable under 4 ohms). Any advice on that choice ??? What'is the most common solution for such a power ? I haven't seen much design providing such a power. David |

Thanks |

Go bridged. Bridging better for high power anyway as it allows high slew rate, is much better on the PSU, and keeps large currents out of ground.
