Hi kaj2,

I am sure you cannot do anything wrong by fitting fresh/modern capacitors and a new IC, but further improvements are possible relating to output devices and current limits on older boards.

Cheers ......... Graham.

KAJ2:

There's more to modify on a QUAD 405 than simply fitting overpriced capacitors....

Never fit a bipolar capacitor when there is a dc voltage across it !

Default Caps off

Will the real JC please stand up... please stand up

With over 1500 postings and a handle like analog-SA do YOU really want to know the answer ??

In short, when you dc bias a bipolar you won't half get a good capacitor, in fact you will.
